A Little About Us

Our History

Swampy hard rock music, born in the endless fields of South Georgia, and raised in the big city. Silversel has been a musical force to be reckoned with since its inception. With 3 albums under their belt, countless tours and shows with some of the biggest names in Rock and Southern Rock, and even a Grammy Nod at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, Silversel has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time.

Silversel was originally conceived by Richard Saldano, Wally Silver, and Justin Meyers. Rounding out the band was long time friend and bassist, John Wagnon. Their first album, Where Angels Dare, garnered the band much success. They signed to Mira Vista Records and T&T Management before hitting the road with Molly Hatchet for several dates to promote the album. The first single from that album, ‘Heard it all Before’ caught the attention of the Grammy board for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The single and album made it into the top ten that year. Unfortunately, it was beat out for the nomination by Queens of the Stoneage, and Neil Young for ‘Best New Rock Album’. The band, however, saw it as a huge honor to make the top ten, and it further fueled the fire to push forward. They immediately began writing their follow up album.

The band's second album, Battlegrounds, was a treasure trove of heavy rock with southern roots. WIth hit singles like All Outta Rocks( it stayed on the DRT music charts for 16 weeks at #1) and Icarus( it stayed on the DRT music charts for 8 weeks at #1 and #2). Along with  fan favorite southern rock bangers like Outlaw. Battlegrounds quickly pushed Silversel into the limelight. Silversel signed to Sony Red for distribution of Battlegrounds then went back to doing what they do best. Delighting fans across the country with their electrifying show.

In January of 2021 Silversel released their most recent album. An EP entitled Inexorable. The new EP ushered in a new heavier sound for the band. With songs like Gravedigger, Enemy and Run With The Wolves. With Inexorable Silversel sought to give listeners, both old and new, a taste of who Silversel truly is. They wanted to allow fans to have some of the same energy they saw on stage, in the comfort of their vehicle. The Inexorable EP also saw Silversel’s first truly independent release. They released the EP under their own label, Firelight Canopy Records.

Presently, Silversel is working on their 4th studio album. With the first single, Whiskey Haze, set to debut later this year.
